Drug details:

【Function and indications】
This product is suitable for the treatment of malignant lymphoma, acute lymphocytic leukemia, central nervous system malignant tumors such as neuroblastoma, glioma and astrocytoma and metastatic tumors, bladder cancer and neuroblastoma, etc.

【Model and specification】
5ml: 50mg; light yellow or light yellow-green clear liquid.

【Usage and dosage】
Monotherapy: 60mg/m2 each time, add 500ml of normal saline, drip for more than 30 minutes, once a day, for 5 consecutive days. Repeat for 3 weeks. The usual dosage of combined medication is 60mg per day plus 500ml of normal saline drip, generally for 3 consecutive days. The elderly and patients with poor bone marrow function and multiple chemotherapy should reduce the dosage as appropriate.

【Precautions】
(1) Use with caution in patients with abnormal liver and kidney function or tumor invading the bone marrow.

(2) Blood counts should be checked regularly. If the white blood cell count is lower than 3.5×109/l or the platelet count is lower than 75×109/l, use should be postponed until the bone marrow function returns to normal.
(3) Care should be taken to ensure that the drug is infused into the vein to avoid tissue necrosis and thrombophlebitis caused by infusion outside the vein.
(4) The drug should be slowly dripped intravenously. During the first 30 to 60 minutes, vital signs should be carefully monitored to avoid hypotension.

[Adverse Reactions and Contraindications]
(1) Bone marrow toxicity is the dose-limiting toxicity. White blood cell and platelet decreases are common 7 to 14 days after medication.
(2) Gastrointestinal reactions: Nausea and vomiting are the most common gastrointestinal adverse reactions, but they are usually mild and moderate.
(3) Hair loss is also common.
(4) Hypotension: Transient hypotension may occur during rapid infusion.
(5) Allergic reactions: Acute allergic reactions may occur: chills, fever, tachycardia, bronchospasm, dyspnea, hypotension, flushing, sweating, edema, hypertension and urticaria.
(6) Others: Stomatitis, headache and mental disorders are rare.

[Contraindications]
People who are allergic to teniposide and polyethyl castor oil, or those with severe leukopenia or thrombocytopenia are contraindicated.

[Pregnant women]
Pregnant women and lactating women are contraindicated.

[Drug interactions]
Phenobarbital and phenytoin sodium can increase the clearance of teniposide, and the dose of teniposide may need to be increased when used in combination. Tolbutamide, sodium salicylate, and sulfamethoxazole reduce the protein binding rate of teniposide, resulting in an increase in free drugs, increasing drug effects and toxic reactions.

[Children’s use]
This product contains benzyl alcohol, which may cause damage to newborns.
