【Function and Indications】
Mitomycin C has shown its anti-tumor effect as a chemotherapy agent and has been widely used in the treatment of different cancers. It is clinically applicable to digestive tract cancers such as gastric cancer, intestinal cancer, liver cancer and pancreatic cancer, with good efficacy. It is also effective for lung cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer and choriocarcinoma. It can also be used for malignant lymphoma and cancerous pleural and abdominal effusion.
【Usage and Dosage】
Intravenous injection, 4mg~6mg/time for adults, 1~2 times/week, and the course of treatment is 40mg~60mg. Oral administration, 2mg~6mg/day, a total of 100mg~150mg for 1 course of treatment.
【Precautions】
This drug may interfere with women’s menstrual cycle and may stop male sperm production, and may also harm the fetus. If necessary, take contraceptive measures to avoid pregnancy. During treatment, it is easy to get infected. Please try to avoid going to public places and prevent colds. It is easy to have oral inflammation, sores and tingling sensations, and oral cleaning needs to be thorough.
【Adverse Reactions】
1. Bone marrow suppression, mainly decreased white blood cells and platelets.
2. Gastrointestinal reactions, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, etc., are generally mild.
3. There may be phlebitis at the injection site. If it leaks out of the blood vessels, it may cause tissue necrosis and ulceration.
4. A small number of patients may experience liver and kidney dysfunction.
5. Sometimes there may be stomatitis, fatigue and hair loss.
